The Dolomitic Sublime

This gallery revolves around the Alta Via 1 route, one of Italy's most famous trekking trails, developing in 120km from Dobbiaco to Belluno. I had the opportunity to go on this trek with some friends in August 2022.

The main focus of the Alta Via gallery is to showcase the sublime of the Dolomitic environment as it is encountered through the perspective of hikers.

This was realized by focusing on the rugged shapes and unique lines that the mountains create. Moreover, the composition reflects the idea of the sublime of this environment. The mountains are always the subject of the image and they rule the environment around them; little human activity is found, and where it’s present, humans are Dolomites’ guests and in order to pass through, they have to respect it humbly.
